Our commitment to ourselves, our land, and our animals

We use some of the principles of biodynamic farming where animals are part of the farm organism. The animals’ needs and wellbeing is respected and looked after in every way.

The nature of our animals

We create conditions on our farm that encourages and allows our animals to behave in a way that suits their nature. To the extent possible, our animals are able to free-range and feed on pasture.

The nutrition of our animals

Our animal feed comes from local farms and is predominantly transitional organic and non-GMO.

The integrity of our animals

We do not mutilate our livestock. Debeaking, tail cutting, and tail docking is not something we commonly do.

The make-up of our animals

We do not purchase animals or raise our animals with the help of hormones or the preventative use of antibiotics. If antibiotics have to be used for the health of the animal, it will not be sold as food.

The behavior of our animals

Our operation is small and we have, therefore, only small herds or flocks. This allows our animals to express natural social behavior, ranking order and provides enough space for them to live well.
